2025 Camp Counselors
Epsilon Camp is seeking students of mathematics who are passionate about sharing their love of mathematics with children. If you are an undergraduate or graduate student studying mathematics and are interested in applying to be a counselor at Epsilon Camp, please visit our Jobs page.
Heather is pursuing her PhD in mathematics at Texas State University, and focusing on group theory for her research. She is passionate about exploring and sharing mathematics with others, and has worked with students and peers of all ages on a myriad of puzzles and problem-solving challenges. When she’s not thinking about math, she enjoys playing board games or getting lost in a good book.
Ariella is from Wilmette, Illinois (a suburb north of Chicago) and is an incoming Sophomore at Cornell University where she is studying math. She loves solving puzzles and teaching others, and she plans on being a math professor when she’s older. This is her second year with Epsilon Camp, and she’s so excited to spend two weeks this summer helping the kids apply their mathematical knowledge in fun and engaging ways!
Peyton Rose is happy to be back and work another summer with Epsilon Camp. He studied mathematics at Michigan state University, and is always eager to find new ways of sharing his enthusiasm of math with others. Peyton spends his free time playing Dungeons and Dragons with his friends, creating digital art, and cooking new recipes. In the future, Peyton is looking forward to working while giving back to his local community through mathematics and education opportunities.
Zuriel is excited to work her third summer with Epsilon camp! She has just earned her bachelor’s in mathematics with a minor in computer science from Scripps College and plans to next get a teaching credential. She has a particularly strong interest in both Number Theory and Analysis. Outside of mathematics, Zuriel loves to explore her creative side through digital art and ceramics.
Ava is a mathematics PhD student at the University of Pennsylvania. Her mathematical interests include vertex operator algebras and algebraic geometry. In her free time she enjoys hiking, running and reading. She is excited to work at Epsilon Camp this summer.
Jacob Cohen is a Stanford student, New York Times-published puzzle constructor, and long-ago (2014-16) Epsilon Camper! As a counselor at Camp Lemma (hosted at Proof School, where he graduated from) he once got "tau-ed" (that's when you get pied by two pies at once) and ran an activity called "Jacob Lies to Campers". In his spare time, he stares contemplatively into the distance and writes short bios in third person.
Sophia Salter is graduating as a math major and chemistry minor at the University of Oregon and is excited to join Epsilon Camp this summer. At home, she enjoys running her art business, hiking, and learning new things, and will be attending graduate school in the fall. She is looking forward to connecting with everyone at camp and sharing her appreciation for STEM with others!
Will Selkey is a fresh graduate from St. Olaf College with a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Education. When he’s not teaching algebra to middle schoolers, he’s either baking bread, rowing, or playing bass with his RnB band. He is a firm believer in the chalkboard, which helped him survive a semester of studying topology and proof methods in Budapest. He is a returning counselor, and he is super excited to be overwhelmed with the level of creativity that Epsilon campers have.
Jimmy is a graduating as a Math and History double major at Bates College and will begin graduate studies in Mathematical Sciences in the fall. This is his first summer as a counselor for Epsilon Camp and he is looking forward to meeting and connecting with all the campers. In his free time Jimmy enjoys reading, rowing, cooking, and being outside.
Jack is an incoming mathematics PhD student at Harvard University and is soon to be graduating from Princeton University. Jack is excited to be joining Epsilon Camp for the first summer as a counselor. Jack is passionate about inspiring students in mathematics. In his free time, Jack loves to play basketball and play the cello.
Anatolii is graduating from Binghamton University as a math major this year with the intention of continuing his education at the graduate level. He likes all things topology and algebra, and loves to tackle difficult, mind-boggling problems — the same ones that you'll lose sleep over. Aside from math, he likes to swim, write short stories, and upload videos to his YouTube channel. He has taught talented children math in the past and is excited to share his joy of learning to a new cohort of rising stars.
Tori is a rising junior at Colorado College studying mathematics, economics, and environmental science. She loves to hike, draw (she has a handmade sticker business!), listen to live music, and explore the world—whether that be international traveling or simply walking into a new part of town. Tori has spent the last few summers working at summer camps and is super excited to combine her prior experiences with her passion for math!
Pablo is a 4th year Clinical Psychology doctoral student at Rutgers University where he has specialized in working with marginalized populations with complex trauma. He loves sports (soccer, tennis, and basketball), cooking, and hanging out with friends and family. This will be his 2nd year at Epsilon Camp and he is excited to spend another summer supporting campers and learning some math along the way!
