Sponsor a Camper for 2024
Epsilon Camp is deeply committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment. Our ability to attract underrepresented students depends directly on being able to offer financial assistance, including full scholarships, to families who need it most. Our long-term goal is to ensure that every applicant who qualifies for Epsilon Camp is able to afford our program.
If you or your organization are interested in sponsoring a camper scholarship for Epsilon Camp 2024, please contact our Executive Director, Sara White, at sara@epsiloncamp.org.
“I do not think my words [can] adequately express how Epsilon Camp has affected my son… He is a very gifted child and has always had his mind and hands in the numbers… [But] as adorable and sweet and kind as [he] is, he did not have crowds of children surrounding him listening to him preach out his first theorem… [Epsilon] recharged his passion about math. He explored concepts he had not been exposed to, and it was very pleasing to see him, at last, academically challenged. As a parent, I learned of so many resources for me to tap into so that I can continue to nurture [my son]. I got to be surrounded by parents that had similar challenges, parents who have already walked the path I am walking, and a community saturated with love. But what was of the most value and most moving (I tear up as I write this) is to see my son enjoy and share laughter. Laugh so hard he would choke. Clutch his belly, bend over kind of laugh. To walk around and talk to kids [who] connected with him. He smiled, he told jokes, he learned how to solve a Rubik’s cube. And he met [a fellow camper] who we say is his brother from another mother. They have virtual playdates every Sunday. [My son] has always been a happy child. It never took much to satisfy him. But I believe Epsilon gave him joy. Thank you, Mr. Mitra, and thank you, Epsilon Team, for planting beautiful seeds into my baby's soil.”

2023 Mitra Sponsorship
The Mitra family recognizes that Epsilon Camp can be a transformative experience for the profoundly gifted child and for parents who struggle to find appropriate math enrichment and social opportunities for their children. Drawing from his personal experience with how highest-quality education has made a life-changing impact on his own life, Mr. Mitra believes strongly that math summer enrichment camps such as Epsilon can make an especially meaningful difference in the lives of underprivileged and underserved children.
In addition, Mr. Mitra recognizes the underrepresentation of females among high-achieving math students, a trend that becomes especially evident by high school and carries over into underrepresentation of women in math-intensive fields. By nurturing an interest in mathematics and by encouraging exploration of its beauty and elegance outside of the traditional school curriculum, it is hoped that Epsilon Camp will inspire, in particular, a profoundly gifted girl to develop a life-long love of mathematics, and to pursue math or some application of it as a career.
Thanks to the generosity of the Mitra family, the Mitra Sponsorship aims to remove the financial barriers for one eligible camper, by providing full tuition, room and board, and travel costs to Epsilon for the camper and one parent. Preference will be given to female applicants, but the sponsorship is open for all eligible admitted campers with significant financial need.
